History

Iloilo City National High School’s Tribu Silak started in 1998 with its name “Tribu Lunok” which was organized by the late, Mr. Ronnie Baretta. In 2005, they changed their name to “Tribu Silak” and garnered the best in choreography, performance and music awards. In 2012, the tribe returned its original name to “Tribu Lunok” headed by Sir Ramil C. Huyatid and got the 1st runner up in the event.

Tribu Lunok was also the first tribe who performed in the Pasinaya Festival in Manila at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. In 2013, the Tribe changed its name again to Tribu Panayanon until 2020 and merged as champions in the years 2013,2014,2015 and 2018. This year, Iloilo City National High School participates in the Dinagyang Festival Ati Tribe Competition once again with the name “Tribu Silak” symbolizing the dawn of a new beginning with the blessings of Senior Sto. Nino-being bigger, better and wonderful – in the past, now and in the years to come.
